TOM FORD
LOUIS VUITTON
TomokiThe smaller box is a Tom Ford accessory case. It's specifically for cufflinks, and I find it very useful, often bringing it along for shoots. The interior of the compact case is a two-tiered design lined with nubuck. A plate engraved with the logo adorns the inside.
The larger accessory case was created in collaboration with Louis Vuitton about 15 years ago when I helped launch a members-only salon called CELUX. Based on an existing cigar case, it was customized with internal dividers to hold watches, rings, and necklaces. The material is a plywood finish of mahogany and Macassar ebony. Pearwood provides linear accents, and the exterior features the Monogram pattern.
As a special feature for "lifelong treasures," I've chosen two accessory cases. Items like these are surprisingly hard to find when you're actually looking. The Louis Vuitton case came about serendipitously when I was thinking, "It would be great to have something like this," and the opportunity arose. I was inspired by a cigar case when I conceived of it.
Actually, I had forgotten about this accessory case until the "lifelong treasure" theme came up, and I had to rush to find it from the back of my house before the shoot. While the smaller one is more practical, now that I've rediscovered it and still find it appealing, I plan to use it again.
