The appeal of Dunhill lies in the fact that this is not merely an apparel brand. When you visit a store and take your time to peruse its offerings, you'll encounter items that make you think, "Wow, they have this too?" This is particularly true of the Dunhill Motorities collection. Focusing on the joy of travel by car and the necessities it entails, the brand once declared its founding concept to be "everything except the engine." In short, it's a treasure trove for car enthusiasts. Goggles, leather gloves, leather coats, and blousons are standard, and there are even cufflinks designed to resemble steering wheels. It's fitting, given that Alfred Dunhill was among the first in Britain to own an automobile.

What impresses next is Dunhill Links, which we introduce here. As the name suggests, it is Dunhill's golf wear.
It's hardly surprising that Dunhill, a British brand, would focus on golf, Britain's quintessential sport. For a brand favored by gentlemen, a golf wear collection is only to be expected. However, Dunhill has not approached golf wear with such a casual stance. They have been engaging with golf head-on for 32 years. This is exemplified by the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, a world-renowned pro-am tournament.
The tournament is held in St Andrews, Scotland, often called the home of golf. It's a town known for the Old Course, which has hosted the Open Championship multiple times. There are numerous public courses here, and the tournament takes place on them. This year, the venues included the Old Course, Carnoustie, and Kingsbarns. All are links courses overlooking the sea, directly exposed to the coastal winds. It's truly a battle against nature.
And here, we understand why the Dunhill collection is named Dunhill Links. It's precisely because the tournament they host is held on links courses. With this in mind, one can surmise that this collection is not merely superficial. It is designed to offer protection from the harsh cold and wind. Of course, functionality doesn't precede style, but its essence differs from golf wear that is purely about looks.
I had the opportunity to witness this tournament firsthand, and while I observed Dunhill's stoic dedication to golf, I also sensed the mature sophistication of a gentleman's outfitter. This was evident in the fireworks display collaborated with music, and the parties held on Saturday nights. At the Dunhill hospitality house, built beside the 17th green of the Old Course where the finals are held, numerous celebrities from home and abroad gathered, singing and dancing until dawn.
Alongside celebrities, there were musicians and major football players. And, of course, golfers. It was truly a glamorous affair...
Against this backdrop, Dunhill's golf wear is remarkably authentic. As such, it's essential for any discerning golfer to check it out.
