Reasons for the Fair's Postponement

—Many John Lobb fans, I'm sure, are eagerly anticipating the "BY REQUEST" fair as usual this year. Could you please tell us the reason for its postponement?

The "BY REQUEST" fair, which allows customers to place bespoke orders based on John Lobb's ready-to-wear models, originated in Japan and has become a popular event now held in other countries as well. We had been preparing to hold the "BY REQUEST" fair again this year, but due to the increasing global demand for the high-quality leathers we use, there is a worldwide shortage and tight supply of leathers that meet our standards. Consequently, we have decided to postpone the fair for the time being, as we cannot secure a sufficient supply of leather that meets John Lobb's quality requirements.

—We understand that John Lobb's factory is facing difficulties in stocking sufficient leather. Is that correct?

That's right. A few years ago, for the "BY REQUEST" fair, we recommended specific leather pairings for each model that we believed were the best combinations. However, we received many requests from customers wanting to use different materials. As the name "BY REQUEST" suggests, we expanded the options, allowing customers to choose from a wider range of materials for various models. This resulted in a very high volume of orders last year. This year, however, we are currently unable to prepare the necessary materials.

—Does postponing the fair mean that preparations will continue further?

Yes. To ensure the fair can proceed, we considered various measures, such as limiting the available materials for orders, extending the delivery times beyond the usual, or postponing the fair. However, we have decided to postpone the "BY REQUEST" fair for now and will continue our efforts to hold it in the autumn. We will announce the new dates as soon as they are confirmed.
