John Lobbmarks 30 years since launching its ready-to-wear line. To commemorate this milestone, two models from the early days of ready-to-wear production, "FOULD" and "SHAW," which are now discontinued, have been specially reissued exclusively for Japan.

Masterpieces from the ready-to-wear line, retaining their original charm
Japanese fashion in 1981──It was a time when "Nameneko" (a type of cat character), "Boat House" fashion, and Seiko Matsuda's iconic "Seiko Cut" hairstyles were hugely popular. "Neutrale," "Hamatora," and "Preppy" styles were in vogue, leg warmers were a massive hit, and the "Karasuzoku" (crow tribe) emerged, dressing entirely in black. Magazines like "with" and "CanCam" were launched, and the "university student boom" was in full swing.
John Lobb's ready-to-wear line began in such an era. Since its founding in 1858, John Lobb had exclusively crafted bespoke shoes with exceptional skill. The introduction of ready-to-wear, while upholding tradition, was met with surprise and admiration.
Thirty years on, John Lobb's ready-to-wear shoes continue to be highly regarded as elegant, handmade British luxury footwear, crafted using the Goodyear welt construction, earning unwavering support from a loyal customer base.
