Clothing with a sense of reality, pursuing a relaxed feel

This is the brand "RIVORA," helmed by designer Yasuhiro Suzuki. The 2015-16 Autumn/Winter collection features items that pursue a relaxed comfort. We introduce new pieces that express the zeitgeist of our current era, born from a design philosophy that is elegant, refined, and effortless, setting it apart from mere looseness.

The dedication to materials and design hidden within a single coat

The key item for Autumn/Winter 2015-16 is a long coat in a fine gingham check pattern. The fabric is finished with a brushed surface after weaving the pattern, creating an elegant appearance. Techniques of tailoring are subtly incorporated, such as the contrasting AMF (hand-style stitching) along the collar and lapels. The padding is Thinsulate, and each piece is meticulously quilted by hand. The accompanying creaseless pants, made from the same material, also feature a relaxed design, suggesting that the clothing is crafted with an everyday perspective, despite its sophisticated style.

New expressions emerge from a deep understanding of materials

What guides these realistic designs into high-quality clothing is the playful spirit of understanding material properties and then arranging them. Notably, the loop tweed made from alpaca wool expresses a check pattern by inserting color in the weft. By pressing the fabric after finishing, the loops are flattened, abstracting the pattern and creating a nuanced depth. This technique not only adds visual interest but also achieves a deep color and smooth touch that cannot be obtained otherwise. The jacket made from the same material features double-piped breast pockets and navy thread for the buttonhole, showcasing a profound attention to detail. Pants are also available to complete the set, proposing a relaxed yet new set-up style.

Also noteworthy are the stand-collar coat and new-style pants, crafted from a fabric with a deliberately napped, pill-like texture, made by mixing silk and angora yarn with strongly twisted cotton yarn.
