Transforming a Casual Messenger Style into a Business Brief
While BRIEFING has previously offered normal tote-style bags, as well as 2-way and 3-way briefcases that could be converted into backpacks by deploying hidden straps or carried as shoulder bags, the messenger type is a fresh concept. It offers the appeal of coordinating commuting styles more stylishly, while also blending naturally with casual off-duty looks.
This special order wasn't an arrangement of an existing model, but a completely new mold. The challenge was to create a single bag that bridges the gap between a messenger type, which inherently has a strong casual feel, and a business brief. The clever solution lies in the storage space on the back of the body, which masterfully resolves this dichotomy.
When used as a tote, the messenger strap is stored in this compartment. By incorporating thick padding here, the surface remains surprisingly flat, no matter how carelessly the strap is stowed. Furthermore, considering its use as a messenger bag, which typically features breathable mesh on the back, this model instead uses the same ballistic nylon as the body, eschewing sporty mesh to meet the "strictly a business brief" requirement. Its smart finish means you'd never suspect straps are stored within.
Particularly noteworthy is the snug fit when worn as a messenger bag. Not only does the body hug the back for ease of movement, but the action of sliding the bag from your back to your side or front to access items is remarkably smooth! This is achieved by a triangular pad at the connection point of the messenger strap and body that secures it to your person, and by the curved design of the bag's top and bottom edges, which conform to the body's contours.
And of course, laptops are now indispensable in the business world. This special order brief features a thickly padded compartment designed to protect PCs and iPads, with an easy-access flap secured by Velcro. The inclusion of pockets for chargers and cables is also a welcome touch. Additionally, the flap pocket on the body has zippers with directional variations, allowing for easy access whether the bag is on your back or swung to either side. These numerous thoughtful details are characteristic of BRIEFING.
With the recent health boom, cycling to work has become commonplace, and it's no longer unusual to see people commuting by bike in suits. This new form of business brief, born from the needs of these "tsukinists" (commuters), fits a new lifestyle. The rumors special order model will make your commute more stylish and smarter.
