The Allure of Bias-Cut Suits: Adding Voluminous Dimension and Depth to Your Style
ETRO Ginza Main Store is located at the intersection of Namiki-dori and Miyuki-dori in Ginza.
The suit coordination displayed on the men's floor of the main store caught my eye, prompting me to try one on.

This suit is from the "Brave" model, featuring a tight silhouette. The tone-on-tone stripe pattern, ranging from black to gray, stands out beautifully within the collection.
As I slipped it on, feeling the lustrous material with its elegant sheen, I was struck by the feeling of being both sophisticated and sharp, embodying the spirit of the times with its silhouette.
The fit, which provides a sense of refined tension, envelops the entire body neatly. The lack of excess movement could almost be described as sporty.
It's pleasing to be reminded of the image of a sharp, distinguished businessman.
Furthermore, the use of horizontal stripes, vertical stripes, and bias cuts in the pattern is highly distinctive.
The horizontal stripes on the front of the jacket and the vertical stripes on the sleeves create a sense of depth that follows the wearer's body, lending a more voluminous appearance and bestowing an air of gravitas and confidence.
The bias cut of the trousers, meanwhile, presents the legs in a sleek, sharp manner.
Like the jacket, it adds depth while also introducing an element of playful variation to the overall look.
This season's ETRO men's suits are characterized by luxurious fabrics such as pure wool, silk blends, and cashmere blends, featuring woven patterns and simple stripes in black, gray, and navy.
Additionally, the collection is rich with ETRO's signature proposals, including suits with unique, playful pattern blocking.
Elegant pieces, such as those in velvet or pure silk akin to necktie fabrics, can be worn as suits. For instance, a silk set-up suit paired with a velvet jacket, or the jacket from the set-up worn with the velvet trousers in a jacket-and-trousers style, allows for expanded coordination possibilities by combining with jackets and trousers of different materials.
