Three New Bags with Distinct Personalities from the Runway

Gucci's Autumn/Winter collection symbolically incorporates traditional British fabrics such as tweed, glen check, and houndstooth. Three new bags that complete the Autumn Gucci Man style—bold, effortless, and imbued with a free spirit—have arrived in stores, blending formal and informal fashion with ease.

Three new types: a backpack, a messenger, and a clutch. First, let's focus on the backpack and messenger bag, distinguished by their "bamboo handles." As the name suggests, the handle, made from bamboo, was born in 1947 from the ingenuity and exceptional skill of artisans grappling with material shortages after World War II. Its unique design, highlighting the natural nodes and patterns of bamboo, is one of Gucci's iconic symbols. Bamboo handles are often used in women's collections, making their appearance in men's items, as seen here, a rare occurrence.

The two new models, accented with bamboo handles treated to a darker, more subdued hue and matte finish for a distinctly masculine appeal, are both luxuriously crafted from high-quality calfskin, resulting in a rich and refined finish. The backpack, which has gained increasing attention in Japan over the past few seasons, features two zippered pockets on the sides, and inside, two small pockets convenient for storing small items like a mobile phone, a large zippered pocket, and a padded pocket for electronic devices such as a laptop. It is available in a chic black as well as a brown that evokes an antique atmosphere.

Additionally, the simple messenger bag, with its striking bamboo handle, is a two-way design that can also be used as a large tote. The lightweight and soft body has no lining, and the smooth leather interior further emphasizes its high quality. It is available in three colors: black, white, and brown. Instead of pockets, it comes with a pouch.

The third new bag from the runway is the clutch, which continues to be a key trend this autumn. This elegant document case is crafted from textured calf leather, embossed to mimic the unique texture of wild boar hide, and subtly engraved with the iconic "Gucci Crest" motif, inspired by heraldry. A distinctive feature is the leather strap that loops around the wrist. With its chain accent connecting to the bag, this document case, designed to be worn like an accessory, is both fashion-forward and highly practical.

It also features a padded pocket inside for a laptop. It can accommodate an iPad or a slim laptop, and includes nine card slots in addition to the pocket, showcasing Gucci's signature blend of design and user-friendliness.
