Ethical Masks Made from T-shirt and Pajama Scraps
Amidst the spread of the novel coronavirus, masks have become a daily necessity. MUJI developed reusable masks made from 100% cotton fabric with the philosophy of "creating comfortable items for daily use" and "offering reusable alternatives to wasteful disposable products that can be washed by hand."
MUJI already offers "Reusable Two-Layered, Three-Ply Masks" on its online store. The new summer masks feature an overall antibacterial and deodorizing treatment and are ethically made from leftover organic cotton fabric scraps from MUJI's T-shirt and pajama production.
The "Reusable Two-Layered Masks" come in three types. The "Seersucker Weave" will be released in early June, the "Slub Yarn Jersey Knit" in mid-June, and the "Pique Knit" in late June.
