Since its opening in 2008, "Kodomo BEAMS" has proposed a happy lifestyle through various products, events, and workshops, aiming to "further enrich children's sensibilities." The flagship shop in Daikanyama features a curated selection of items from Japan and abroad, including comfortable wear and shoes, beautifully designed toys, and tableware that conveys the importance of food. From "Kodomo BEAMS" comes a desk with a simple and beautiful design. With a focus on its production background, this is a masterpiece that took a year to create.

Production was commissioned to "Sugi Kogyo" in Ukihashi City, Fukuoka Prefecture, a region known for its forestry and lumber industry, under the supervision of Landscape Products, which operates the interior shop "Playmountain." This factory has supplied wooden school supplies such as children's desks, chairs, and vaulting boxes to schools nationwide from the Meiji to Showa eras, and its safe and durable products have been highly praised. It also received recommendations from the then Ministry of Education.

Currently, they continue to focus on domestic production, carefully selecting all materials used that are F☆☆☆☆ certified (JIS). They actively address VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) measures and use highly safe natural oils for painting, creating products that are safe, secure, and considerate of people and the environment. What the "Kodomo BEAMS" development team resonated with most was the sincere attitude of the craftsmen working joyfully in a clean factory that had no chemical odors.

Shelves and chests can be combined to fit your space. The desk height is 71cm, set low so that an adult chair can be paired with it as the child grows slightly taller. The accompanying chairs are "plankton cushion" designed by "graf," a group based in Osaka. It's also a nice touch that you can choose the fabric and frame colors when ordering.

Reservations begin on Monday, December 1st, at Kodomo BEAMS stores. Orders placed by Tuesday, December 30th, will receive a complimentary "Woodworking Beeswax Cream" (10g) from Oyama Seizai, perfect for desk maintenance. This is a maintenance cream for wooden furniture made entirely from natural ingredients, without any organic solvents, synthetic resins, or emulsifiers.

This original desk, created with the sincere efforts of many adults who wanted it to be used comfortably for a long time by the important children who will lead the future, is a testament to the fact that creating something good requires a rich story and production background.
