Shibuya Store B Building, 1st Basement Floor: Popular Interior Shops Gather!

Interior Floor "Living Edition" Opens

This is a revolutionary interior floor, "Living Edition," on the first basement level of the Seibu Shibuya Store B Building, designed to overturn the conventional department store concepts of curtain, kitchenware, and apron sections. It's a "next-generation interior category" that saves time and effort spent searching for favorite shops. It will appeal even to those who aren't typically interior enthusiasts.

11 Shops Occupy a Single Floor, Inspired by the "Za" of Rakuichi Rakuza

The 11 shops, loosely divided by iron pipes rather than walls, are AREA, BRUNCH, CASAMANCE, I+STYLERS, LIVING HOUSE., POLIS, TIME & STYLE, TYPHOON, UTSUMI Oriental, WISE・WISE, and ZERO FIRST DESIGN.The new interior floor, "Living Edition," features a lineup of popular and noteworthy shops, including those familiar to OPENERS readers, brands making their Tokyo debut, and new brands.

Furthermore, "Living Edition" introduces emerging creators in "Preview," a promotional space called "Antenna," and hosts limited-time shops. Y's for living and Uchino Bath Designs, previously on the 7th floor, have also relocated to the first basement level, creating a comprehensive interior floor.

Focus on Each Shop's Unique Design and Style Proposals

A key attraction is the ability to see items from neighboring shops and freely combine favorite pieces to create your own unique space. While each shop is around 30 square meters, they offer a diverse lineup of the latest items they are promoting.

Additionally, "Preview," which showcases notable emerging creators every three months with the concept of "displaying future value," is curated by...Creative Director Akio Aoki...and the first exhibition features "2TONE," a four-person design unit specializing in woodwork and textiles.

With a discerning clientele and a previous lack of dedicated interior shops in Shibuya, this gathering of the city's shops presents an opportunity for a new movement. We will be watching this challenge with interest.
