Showcase of Archive Collection: "The Garden as Science Fiction"
ON ZA LINE, which crafts everything from jewelry to tableware using ceramics as its primary material in their own atelier, will present a showcase of their 2008 and 2009 collections, "The Garden as Science Fiction." The exhibition opens on Thursday, June 13th, at "BIRDHOUSE," a lifestyle shop in Minami-Aoyama.

A World of "The Garden as Science Fiction"
The products of "ON ZA LINE" are conceived and completed by Kiyomi Kodama and Ai Kurahashi within their shared atelier. The duo, primarily using ceramics, aims to "imbue their works with temporal qualities such as mood, emotion, and atmosphere, focusing on what the piece brings to the holder rather than its final form."
This "The Garden as Science Fiction" collection features plates and vases cast directly from plants, as well as jewelry. It depicts a "near-future life" where nature has become far more scarce, reimagined as science fiction.
The lifestyle shop "BIRDHOUSE," where this showcase is being held, opened in April of this year. It is a lifestyle store that produces everything from curated objects, art, and fashion from around the world to exhibition plans. Its diverse lineup, which serves as a source of inspiration for artists and creators and enhances scenes of work and life, presents a unique editorial vision unlike any other.
