Charity Event 'Disney100 CHRISTMAS LOVE 2000% BE@RBRICK UP' by MEDICOM TOY and Harbour City

In partnership with Hong Kong's Harbour City, MEDICOM TOY is currently hosting the Christmas charity event 'Disney100 CHRISTMAS LOVE 2000% BE@RBRICK UP' from Friday, November 24, 2023, to Monday, January 1, 2024. As part of the Disney 100th anniversary, 100 BE@RBRICKs in the 2000% size, themed around Disney characters, are on display throughout the expansive shopping mall at Harbour City, with special commemorative items also available for purchase.

The Venue: Hong Kong's Largest Shopping Mall, Harbour City

Harbour City is Hong Kong's largest shopping mall, situated in the heart of the city along the iconic Victoria Harbour. It is a premier tourist destination, bringing together over 450 shops, 90 restaurants, art galleries, an observation deck, three hotels, and a cruise terminal under one roof.

MEDICOM TOY and Harbour City have a history of collaborative charity events, beginning with 'LOVE IS BIG, LOVE IS BE@RBRICK' in 2007, followed by 'STYLE UP BE@RBRICK' (2016) and 'BE@RBRICK SUMMER CHILL' (2018). The entirety of the project's proceeds, after deducting costs, are donated to the 'Hong Kong Cancer Fund,' upholding the cherished Christmas tradition of 'mutual aid.'

This 'Disney100 CHRISTMAS LOVE 2000% BE@RBRICK UP' event is part of 'Disney100,' the celebration of The Walt Disney Company's 100th anniversary on October 16, 2023. It marks an unprecedented scale, featuring an exhibition of 100 BE@RBRICKs in the 2000% size (approximately 140cm in height), each inspired by Disney characters. These are displayed across Harbour City, from the Gateway Arcade in the mall's center to the Atrium of Ocean Terminal and Gallery by the Harbour. The 100 newly created BE@RBRICKs were released for sale online prior to the event, and purchasers' nameplates are displayed alongside their respective BE@RBRICKs at the venue.

The opening ceremony on November 22 saw the attendance of MEDICOM TOY President and CEO Tatsuhiko Akashi and Vice President Izumi Suga. Amidst a gathering of fans and media, they officially kicked off the event alongside Connie Chan, actress and ambassador for the 'Hong Kong Cancer Fund,' and singer-actor Jan Lam.

53 of the 100 Displayed BE@RBRICKs Feature New Designs; Limited Edition Event Merchandise Also Available

Among the 100 Disney-themed BE@RBRICKs are beloved characters from Mickey & Friends and the Disney Princesses, as well as figures from Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars. Notably, 53 of these designs are making their debut.
Popular characters such as Snow White and the Evil Queen from 'Snow White,' Ariel and Ursula from 'The Little Mermaid,' Maleficent from 'Sleeping Beauty,' Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Elsa and Anna from 'Frozen,' Russell and Carl from 'Up,' Wade Ripple and Ember Lumen from 'Elemental,' and Marvel's Black Panther and Thanos are appearing as BE@RBRICKs for the first time.

In festive holiday attire, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, the Aliens, Zurg, Sulley, and Mike Wazowski are sure to captivate BE@RBRICK collectors and Disney enthusiasts alike. Additionally, the 4.2-meter Snow White Mickey Mouse, serving as the main monument, is a must-see.

During the event period, Harbour City is offering limited edition items such as 'BE@RBRICK Gingerbread Mickey Mouse 100%/400%/1000%' and 'BE@RBRICK Olaf 100%.' Merchandise inspired by these items, including T-shirts, socks, cushions, carpets, cookie sets, and calendar cards, are also available. Why not spend this holiday season in Hong Kong?
