The sci-fi anime "Charge Man Ken!", known affectionately as "Chaken", boasts a cult following online. Amidst buzz from its collaboration commercials with Nissin Foods' "Madly Modified Cup Noodles", Medicom Toy has announced the release of sofubi figures, T-shirts, and mugs featuring iconic scenes from the series. The lineup is as bold as the show itself.

Wear Your Favorite "Chaken" Scenes and Lines

"Charge Man Ken!" is a sci-fi animation that aired for 65 episodes in 10-minute slots in 1974. It was produced by Knack (now ICHI), an animation studio known for works like "Astro Gan-gan".

The protagonist, Ken Izumi, is a boy attending elementary school in the year 2074. The story depicts his nightly struggles to protect people from the threat of the alien Jurals, transforming into "Charge Man" after being exposed to light.

In the late 2000s, its unique content became a hot topic online. When it was featured on TV information and variety shows, its popularity surged among younger generations who had never seen it broadcast. This popularity continues unabated into the Reiwa era. Last September, a collaboration commercial for Nissin Foods' "Madly Modified Cup Noodles", featuring the beloved 35th episode "Dynamite in My Head", generated significant buzz, a memory still fresh for many.

The "Sofubi Charge Man Ken!" figures and some other items like cushions are re-releases from Medicom Toy's 2011 collection, brought back in response to fervent fan requests. Additionally, new items will be released, including T-shirts featuring memorable lines from the popular 35th episode "Dynamite in My Head", such as "Dr. Boruga, please forgive me!"
