Contemporary artist Nicolas Buffe is known for his collaborations with global brands such as Hermès, Comme des Garçons, and Pierre Hermé. His unique works, which fuse European traditional culture like the Renaissance and Baroque with subcultures such as Japanese and American manga, anime, and video games that captivated him from childhood, are highly acclaimed and draw attention not only from the art world but also from a wide range of fields. His art editions are now set to be released by Medicom Toy.

The first piece, "Armor of SUPER POLIFILO STATUE WHITE Ver.," was unveiled at the exhibition "The Dream of Poliphilo" held at the Hara Museum ARC in Tokyo in 2014. Captivated by the dreamlike adventure tale published in Italy about 500 years ago, "Hypnerotomachia Poliphili," in which the protagonist Poliphilo journeys through mazes and palaces in search of his beloved Polia, Buffe found common themes with the Japanese anime and video games that fascinated him in his youth. He reassembled these elements, mixing contrasting concepts such as the new and the old, the West and the East, and high art and subculture. This "Armor of SUPER POLIFILO" embodies armor for Poliphilo, which does not appear in the original work, inspired by Japanese role-playing games, the French tokusatsu drama "Space Sheriff Gavan," and the armor of King Henry II of France.
