Nearly 200 works displayed in a space of approximately 17 tsubo
We infiltrated the pop-up event "AKASHIC RECORDS" by the now-talked-about MEDICOM TOY! The sight of nearly 200 diverse works filling a space of about 17 tsubo on the first floor of Shibuya PARCO was breathtaking.

The more you look, the more delightful discoveries you'll find, making you exclaim, "What is this?!"
The newly renovated Shibuya PARCO opened at the end of last year. "AKASHIC RECORDS" is being held in a glass-enclosed space facing Shibuya Organ-zaka. This is a space called "POP BY JUN," where various events are held for a limited time.
Currently underway, "AKASHIC RECORDS" is curated by Tatsuhiko Akashi, President and CEO of MEDICOM TOY, and features a diverse range of art, fashion, and toys. As a company that has disseminated various cultures, primarily through toys like BE@RBRICK, this event is a treasure box filled with a wide variety of items from across time and space. Approximately 200 pieces in total! Most of them were created specifically for this event.
As soon as you step inside, you are greeted by the imposing "6FT NAGNAGNAG FOUR EYES (EDITION1)," standing at 6 feet (approximately 180cm) tall. The moment you see this giant figure by the mysterious NAGNAGNAG, who excites toy enthusiasts worldwide, you realize this is no ordinary space.
Moving further in, large BE@RBRICK 1000% figures by Anne Valerie Dupond are displayed in glass cases. Their charming yet unique world captivates even those unfamiliar with the artist. These are all one-of-a-kind pieces, priced at 350,000 yen each. The fact that applications were flooded, even at this price, is understandable once you see them in person (applications have now closed). Collaborative apparel between Anne Valerie Dupond and YUTA MATSUOKA, a fashion designer based in Gifu, is also displayed within the venue.
Other highlights include knitwear incorporating the iconic album jacket of INU's "Meshi Kutta!", a 40cm statue of Yoshiharu Tsuge's masterpiece "Nenjishiki", luxurious one-of-a-kind BE@RBRICKs made with Kutani ware by midland creation, statues by Lauren Tsai, and art pieces by MAMES. The more you look, the more delightful discoveries await, making you exclaim, "What is this?!"
Conversely, there are also street-style items, such as Noodle. T-shirts and caps by Hideyuki Tanaka of Flame Graphics, and skate decks for the movie "A Clockwork Orange" by Sync., creating a truly chaotic mix.
We recommend visiting in person to experience the rest. Peeking into the treasure box called "AKASHIC RECORDS" is sure to provide some form of stimulation.
