This year marks the 74th anniversary of Fujiya's mascot character, Peko-chan. A BE@RBRICK version of Peko-chan is set to be released as a "Chogokin" die-cast figure.

Debuting as a store display doll in 1950 and appearing on the packaging of "Milky" the following year, Peko-chan became Fujiya's iconic mascot, gracing store signs and promotional materials. Her charmingly cheeky expression, with her tongue sticking out, won widespread popularity. The head-bobbing dolls on product packaging and in Fujiya stores were beloved by children and adults alike.

Tracing back the history, the very first Peko-chan store display dolls were made of "paper mache." Due to her popularity, they were frequently touched, making maintenance quite challenging. However, in the late 1950s, as the number of Fujiya stores increased, these were gradually replaced with vinyl and plastic versions.

The first collaboration between Peko-chan and BE@RBRICK took place in 2011. To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Milky, "Milky BE@RBRICK" and "Peko-chan BE@RBRICK" were released exclusively on Fujiya's official online shop, "Family Town." Since then, numerous models have been produced, including "Vintage Peko-chan," "Maneki-neko Peko-chan," and "Enamel Sign Peko-chan." Now, finally, she arrives as a "Chogokin" figure.
