Born in 1936 as the eldest son of a fabric wholesaler in Kyobashi, Tokyo, Tanaami experienced World War II in his childhood. The pop art he created, a positive transformation of his childhood memories of the war—influenced by American comics and films like Marilyn Monroe that flowed into Japan after the war—is precisely what is needed in our uncertain Reiwa era.

The BE@RBRICK, available in two colorways of black and red, is adorned with iconic motifs typical of Tanaami's work, such as chickens, goldfish, and large eyes. Its overwhelming imagination is further amplified in this 1000% size, standing at approximately 700mm tall.
