MARUNI COLLECTION 2008 BY NAOTO FUKASAWA: Part Two

Naoto Fukasawa and a Long-Standing Furniture Maker Take on a New Challenge
Designs Loved Across Generations

The "MARUNI COLLECTION 2008 BY NAOTO FUKASAWA" is a collaboration between Maruni Wood Industry, a furniture maker based in Hiroshima, and world-renowned industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa. OPENERS followed the press launch event, and in the first part, we interviewed designer Naoto Fukasawa, and in the middle part, we spoke with Takeshi Yamanaka, who was in charge of development. In this final installment, we focus on the products scheduled for release in April. We introduce the "Traditional Series" and "HIROSHIMA," refined versions of Maruni Wood Industry's classic products.

TRADITIONAL SERIES
Traditional Series

These models are modern refinements of Maruni Wood Industry's classic "Mediterranean Series" and "Versailles Series." While retaining the traditional European ornamentation, the leg details have been simplified and the overall size adjusted. They are upholstered in modern fabrics with contemporary colors and weaves that harmonize with the design.
