Graphic artist Knit Gang Council, who transforms icons of the era into colorful sweaters. The brand "KNIT GANG COUNCIL," a collaboration with Medicom Toy, introduced in an OPENERS interview last year (see "KNIT GANG COUNCIL: An Interview with Knit Gang Council"), is finally launching this spring! From extremely limited handmade pieces to lifestyle wear that anyone can easily pick up. The first collection features crew neck sweaters boldly showcasing Go Nagai's "Devilman," popular in Japan and worldwide, and Hajime Sorayama's "Sexy Robot."KNIT GANG COUNCIL: An Interview with Knit Gang Council

"Devilman" was serialized by manga artist Go Nagai in Weekly Shonen Magazine from 1972 to 1973. It depicted a different development from the TV anime version broadcast during the same period, and is an immortal masterpiece depicting the final battle between the Devilman corps, led by Akira Fudo, who possesses the body of a demon and the heart of a human, and the Demon corps. In 2018, to commemorate Mr. Nagai's 50th year in art, "Devilman: THE FIRST," which reproduced the serialization as closely as possible, was published in three volumes.

"Sexy Robot" is a popular series by artist Hajime Sorayama, known for designing Sony's entertainment robot "AIBO," which depicts women with erotic and metallic textures and forms. In 2001, it appeared on the cover of the album "Just Push Play" by the rock band Aerosmith. The collaboration with Dior announced last November is also fresh in our memory.

Both are available in one size, with a big silhouette. They are jacquard-woven using six colors of yarn, and particularly the "Sexy Robot" in silver features lamé yarn woven in, making it sparkle. With a soft texture and excellent comfort, these knits are perfect for brightening up spring.
