Evil Gwenpool Arrives in MAFEX

Following the "MAFEX Gwenpool" scheduled for release in September, Evil Gwenpool, as drawn by Japanese artist Gurihiru, will also be released by MAFEX!

Text by SHINNO Kunihiko

Gwenpool originated from a variant cover project for "Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars #2," published in 2015. Her cute appearance became a hot topic online, even leading to fans cosplaying her at comic conventions. Marvel Comics' editorial department immediately decided to debut her as a new character. When Japanese artist Gurihiru joined as the illustrator, her popularity exploded further, amplified by their pop and cute art style. The story follows a comic-loving girl who, by chance, travels from the real world into the comic world, using only her pre-existing knowledge, not special abilities, to become a new-generation heroine.

Marvel comic heroes often turn to evil, or an evil counterpart with similar abilities is created. The "Evil Gwenpool" appearing this time is one such character. She is characterized by her black and pink costume and cape. As she is a crucial character leading to a dramatic turn of events in the comic, her figure is a welcome release. The cape features wire for posing and expression.

Includes interchangeable face parts, a wristwatch accessory, and bonus parts: Gwenpool's bare face head and comic effect parts, allowing for a recreation of the scene where she thanks readers in the final issue.
