BE@RBRICK Jackson Pollock Studio 1000% (WATER PRINT)

Jackson Pollock (born January 28, 1912 – died August 11, 1956) was a leading American abstract expressionist painter of the 20th century. Abstract Expressionism was an artistic style that flourished from the late 1940s to the 1950s (named by art critic Robert Coates). The expression known as action painting, created by Jackson Pollock, had a profound impact on the art world, which had previously been dominated by figurative painting, and helped establish New York as a center for the arts.

His techniques, such as dripping paint onto a canvas laid on the floor or splattering it, and using brush strokes that seemed to "dirty" the canvas, were sometimes criticized for devaluing the act of creation. However, they gained significant meaning when art critic Harold Rosenberg defined it as "art as action" and "art as process, not result."

Jackson Pollock's influence extended to the pop culture scene. John Squire, guitarist for the iconic 1990s British rock band The Stone Roses and also an artist, has released numerous artworks created through action painting.
