Announcing the Thin, Light, Large-Screen Tablet: Surface Pro 3
33% thinner than Surface Pro 2 at 0.91cm, over 100g lighter, and equipped with a 12-inch display.―Microsoft Japan has announced the Windows tablet "Surface Pro 3." The consumer models and accessories will be available from Thursday, July 17th, at the online "Microsoft Store" and major electronics retailers nationwide.

An All-in-One Machine for Everything
The new "Surface Pro 3" tablet features a magnesium alloy chassis and a 12-inch display (2160x1440 dots, 3:2 aspect ratio). It pursues usability and high functionality in all scenarios with features like a multi-position kickstand and a display resolution exceeding Full HD. The rear kickstand can now be opened up to 150 degrees for free angle adjustment.
The Surface Pro 3, occupying a unique position as "casual like a tablet, powerful like a laptop," comes with an aluminum-body pen, the "Surface Pen." A single press of the button on the pen's cap launches OneNote even when the device is locked, allowing for immediate note-taking. A double-click captures the screen, enabling notes to be pasted and shared with others.
Additionally, the keyboard cover "Type Cover" (sold separately) has been redesigned to match the larger body. The key pitch has been widened, and the touchpad enlarged. A new hinge allows the top of the keyboard to fold, enabling it to be angled when magnetically attached to the device, thus providing stability when placed on one's lap.
