No More Storage Worries

"iTunes Match" is a cloud music service that allows you to enjoy music anywhere. Apple has previously offered a cloud service called "iCloud," which enables access to data such as music, photos, and documents from any device, including iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Windows PCs, and Apple TV. However, until now, music shared through this service was limited to purchases made from the iTunes Store.

The newly launched iTunes Match is a groundbreaking service that allows music purchased outside the iTunes Store, as well as music ripped from CDs, to be shared via iCloud. With over 37 million songs already available on the iTunes Store, the system only requires uploading songs not found there.

You can store up to 25,000 songs. Furthermore, even if the original audio quality is low, all songs matched with iTunes can be played at a high-quality 256 Kbps AAC, DRM-free format. On the device, simply tap the download button in iCloud to download songs by artist, album, or playlist. This allows you to enjoy music on the go without worrying about storage space.

This service, already available in the United States, was announced for launch in Japan as a complete surprise. The registration fee is ¥3,980 per year.
