New Generation Leica Operated via Touch Panel
What first catches the eye with the "Leica T" is its beautiful body, milled from a solid block of aluminum, allowing you to feel the material and texture. It reinterprets Leica's traditional design, based on timeless style and a streamlined form, making it a truly Leica-esque product design.
Fitting its simple body design, intuitive operability is also a major feature. Main operations are performed via the touch panel, and controls other than the touch panel are placed in easily accessible positions, allowing you to concentrate on shooting without confusion.
It is equipped with a newly developed image processing engine and image sensor. The image sensor is a large APS-C size CMOS sensor with a total of 16.5 million pixels, enabling high-quality shooting in all situations.
Furthermore, it features Wi-Fi functionality for the first time in a Leica system camera. Still images and videos can be wirelessly transferred to smartphones and tablets for sharing via email or social media like Facebook. Using the iOS application "Leica T app," you can remotely control the Leica T, including shutter speed and aperture settings, from your iPhone or iPad screen. This can be used as a self-timer or for shooting at angles that are normally difficult to achieve.
Additionally, it comes bundled with "Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom®" to support digital image processing workflows. This is a globally beloved software for professionals and amateurs alike, offering comprehensive features for editing, management, and output. It can be downloaded from the website after user registration.
Two new lenses have been developed exclusively for the "Leica T System." The standard zoom lens, "Leica Vario-Elmar-T f3.5-5.6/18-56mm ASPH.," offers flexibility for genres ranging from wide-angle landscapes to documentary and portrait photography.
The compact, fast prime lens, "Leica Summicron-T f2/23mm ASPH.," offers a focal length of approximately 35mm in 35mm format, a signature focal length for Leica. In the future, a wide-angle zoom lens, "Leica Super-Vario-Elmar-T f3.5-4.5/11-23mm ASPH.," and a telephoto zoom lens, "Leica Vario-Elmar-T f3.5-5.6/55-135mm ASPH.," are scheduled to be officially announced at "photokina 2014," the world's largest trade fair for photography and imaging, held in Germany in September.
With a concept of achieving groundbreaking design and operability, the Leica T System, meticulously crafted by hand using advanced manufacturing techniques, can be called a new era system that pursues "ultimate perfection."an event to experience the Leica Twill be held prior to the release. As it is on a first-come, first-served basis, early application is essential.
