New Feature Excludes Operator's Voice

The "FDR-AX100" is Sony's second 4K-compatible Handycam. Compared to its predecessor, the "FDR-AX1," its volume has been reduced to one-fourth and its weight to one-third, achieving a compact and lightweight design. Next-generation high-quality shooting is now more accessible.


While evolved into a compact size, there is no compromise on image quality. The sensor that records image quality is a large 1.0-type "Exmor R®" CMOS image sensor, the largest in the Handycam lineup. This is combined with the new-generation image processing engine "BIONZ X™" and a newly developed "ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T*" lens. This allows for an immersive experience, as if you are truly there, with high-definition 4K footage. The lens offers a maximum wide-angle of 29mm and up to 12x optical zoom, making it versatile for both indoor and outdoor shooting. The total number of pixels is 20.9 million, with 14.2 million effective pixels for video recording.

Furthermore, it is equipped with a range of features unique to Sony's expertise in imaging. Convenient functions include "Clear Zoom Extension" which allows zooming without degrading image quality, "4K Still Image Output" for high-quality still image output, and the new "My Voice Cancelling" technology that emphasizes the subject by excluding the operator's voice.

Sony has also launched the Handycam special website "1000 Days with You, Forever." This site features videos documenting the growth of a child from birth. It proposes the importance of preserving precious moments over 1000 days, as a child grows from a baby. This is also worth paying attention to.
