Leica MP Olive Set and Leica X2 Olive Available for Pre-order


To commemorate the opening of the Leica Kyoto store on Saturday, March 15th, Leica Camera Japan will release the domestic limited edition models, the "Leica MP Olive Set" and the "Leica X2 Olive." The "Leica MP Olive Set" will be available for pre-order at the Leica Kyoto store starting Saturday, March 15th, and will be sold at Leica stores, Leica boutiques, and select limited retailers from Tuesday, April 1st. The "Leica X2 Olive" will be released exclusively at the Leica Kyoto store starting Saturday, March 15th.

The Coveted "Olive" Color: A Collector's Favorite


The "Leica MP Olive Set," a film rangefinder camera, features an olive color for its top cover and base plate. The operating parts, such as the shutter dial, are finished in silver chrome. The hot shoe is inscribed with the limited edition model's serial number. The set includes a silver anodized lens, the "Leica Summilux-M f1.4/35mm ASPH.," and a cognac-colored strap, specially prepared for this model.

The olive color used this time is a special hue that has appeared on previous Leica M3 and several other models. Those models were produced in limited quantities, making them highly rare and sought-after collector's items due to their exquisite beauty.

The "Leica X2 Olive" is a rare model based on the popular "Leica X2" silver body, clad in olive-colored leather. The exquisite match between the modern design of the Leica X2 and the classic impression of the olive color is complemented by a cognac-colored strap.

Exhibition by 10 Magnum Photographers


Along with the opening of the "Leica Kyoto Store," the "Leica Gallery Kyoto," the second Leica Gallery in Japan, will open on the second floor of the Leica Kyoto Store. To commemorate the opening, an exhibition titled "Kyoto as Seen by Magnum" will be held, featuring works by the renowned photography collective, Magnum Photos.

This exhibition will showcase 15 carefully selected works of Kyoto captured by legendary Magnum photographers, including Robert Capa, René Burri, and Elliott Erwitt.
