SIGMA | The Renewed Ultra-High Image Quality Camera "dp Quattro"

SIGMA | A Radical Design Unlike Any Camera Before

Introducing the Renewed Ultra-High-Quality "dp Quattro" Camera

Sigma has announced the "dp Quattro," the latest model in its ultra-high-quality compact camera "dp" series. This marks a full model change with a radical design unlike any camera before, based on the design language of the "SIGMA GLOBAL VISION" brand renewal project that the company has been pursuing since winter 2012.

Sigma's First Global Vision Camera
Since winter 2012, Sigma has been rolling out a brand renewal project called "SIGMA GLOBAL VISION," sequentially introducing new visuals for its brand logo, website, and flagship camera lenses. The "dp Quattro" is the first camera to emerge from this strategy. Its body design is radical, with a significantly protruding grip. Sigma explains the meaning behind this design as "the result of focusing on image quality."

The dp series is positioned by the company as its ultra-high-quality compact camera line. It features an APS-C sensor and a newly developed Foveon X3 direct image sensor. With approximately 29 megapixels (equivalent to approximately 39 megapixels), these figures are substantial when compared to the 20-40 megapixel range of professional DSLRs and the 10-megapixel range of amateur DSLRs from other manufacturers.

A common characteristic of the dp series, which prioritizes image quality, is the use of prime lenses instead of zooms. This time, as before, three models with different focal lengths have been announced simultaneously: the "dp1 Quattro" with a wide-angle field of view of approximately 28mm, the "dp2 Quattro" with a standard field of view of approximately 45mm, and the "dp3 Quattro" with a medium-telephoto field of view of approximately 75mm. It's great to be able to select the focal length that suits your preference.

The release date for the "dp2 Quattro" has been set for Friday, June 27th.
