A Mirrorless Camera Rivaling "Professional Models"?
The "X-T1," announced today, was a model that, ahead of its official unveiling, hada portion of its body teasedpublicly revealed.
The biggest new feature is the newly developed EVF. Conventional mirrorless cameras suffered from a significant time lag between the actual subject and the image displayed in the electronic viewfinder, making it difficult to capture fleeting moments in fast-paced scenes. In contrast, the "Real Time Viewfinder" on the X-T1 achieves a world-leading time lag of just 0.005 seconds. Furthermore, with its world's fastest 0.08-second autofocus, it offers a shooting experience that is virtually indistinguishable from using an optical viewfinder.
Continuous shooting speed reaches up to 8.0 frames per second. Moreover, it boasts dustproof and splashproof capabilities, a first for the "X Series," along with resistance to low temperatures down to -10°C. These specifications rival those of high-end professional cameras from other manufacturers, which retail for hundreds of thousands of yen. The rear monitor is a 3.0-inch, 1.04 million-dot premium clear LCD. Its tiltable design allows for adjustment of the angle up and down, enabling shooting from various perspectives. Combined with its compact body, its handling is superior to that of other professional cameras.
This is a mirrorless camera that transcends the "fashion camera" image often associated with previous mirrorless models, offering "professional specifications." It is poised to be a standout model of 2014. Pricing is open, with a release date set for Saturday, February 15.
