The First In-Ear Noise-Cancelling Headphones!

A Revolution in Headphone Listening Styles Begins

Launching on Monday, August 26th, Bose's first in-ear noise-cancelling headphones feature a "Noise Cancelling Mode" that creates astonishing quiet, and an "Aware Mode" that allows you to clearly hear your surroundings while still listening to music. Two models will be released: the "QuietComfort® 20 headphones" compatible with Android devices and Windows OS, and the "QuietComfort® 20i headphones" compatible with iOS devices such as iPhone and iPad.

A Milestone in Over 30 Years of Noise-Cancelling Technology

The new product, which delivers overwhelming sound-dampening performance that will surprise everyone with its "How can in-ear headphones be this quiet?", is finally here. Two small, high-performance microphones detect noise. A microphone placed on the outside of the housing accurately monitors external noise, while an inner microphone monitors noise entering the ear. The control module located midway down the cable receives the monitored noise and processes it with Bose's proprietary digital circuitry. It instantly generates sound waves with the inverse phase (opposite direction) of the noise, cancelling it out. This is how Bose's dramatic noise-cancelling performance is achieved.

Furthermore, the standout feature of this model, "Aware Mode," is an innovative mode that allows you to enjoy music while hearing your surroundings without removing the headphones. Pressing the button on the Y-split of the cable switches from the normal noise-cancelling mode to "Aware Mode." While music continues to play, only unpleasant noise is suppressed, allowing you to simultaneously hear necessary ambient sounds.

This makes it possible to enjoy music while wearing the headphones in situations where you would normally have to take them off, such as when walking in the city and hearing a car horn, entering a shop or convenience store, or listening to announcements at a station or airport.

Freely Switch Between Silence and Your Surroundings with Two Innovative Modes!

In addition, the new "StayHear®+ (Stay Hear Plus) tips" developed for exceptional stability, comfortable fit, and high sound isolation, along with "TriPort® technology" that produces rich, deep sound and powerful bass, and proprietary "Active EQ" that reproduces optimal sound quality for listening, are also noteworthy.

The unit is equipped with a rechargeable battery that provides approximately 16 hours of continuous use. Even if the battery runs out, they can still be used as regular headphones. The Y-split of the cable also features an inline remote with a microphone, allowing you to make calls without removing the headphones.
