To the "X" Moment Where Various Experiences Cross

Sony Mobile has announced the latest Android OS smartphone, the "Xperia X Performance." This new model adopts "X" instead of the previous "Z" or "A" in the Xperia series name. This new alphabet signifies Xperia's aspiration to be a constant partner as users experience a variety of moments that cross.

The body measures approximately 144mm in height, 71mm in width, and 8.6mm in thickness, weighing about 165 grams. The internal battery capacity is 2570mAh, and it uses Qualcomm's MSM8996 2.2GHz x 2 cores + 1.6GHz x 2 cores CPU. The OS is Android 6.0.

Furthermore, this new model features a newly developed algorithm to optimize performance for camera functions and battery operation. It also incorporates enhanced intelligence, such as a design that fits more comfortably in the hand.

The camera functions show further evolution, leveraging technology cultivated from the "α™" series of digital single-lens cameras. The time from launching the camera app to taking a shot has been reduced, achieving Xperia's fastest-ever operation of approximately 0.6 seconds. The newly added "Predictive Capture" function improves tracking performance with its motion detection engine, enabling focus adjustment that predicts the subject's movement. The front camera, with its high resolution of approximately 13.2 megapixels, captures noise-free photos even in low light or indoor conditions.

Additionally, through control technology that efficiently manages charging based on the situation, battery degradation is reduced, achieving a battery lifespan up to twice as long. The 5.0-inch display features a curved glass for a comfortable grip and a pleasant feel. The seamless design smoothly integrates the frame and display. The display surface shares the same color as the back panel, enhancing the overall unity.

Of course, the music player performance is also top-tier, allowing enjoyment of high-quality portable music with features like high-resolution audio playback and digital noise cancellation. Furthermore, popular specifications from previous models, such as fingerprint sensor unlocking and water/dust resistance, have been carried over, resulting in an even more refined smartphone.

This device will be sequentially released from mid-June by NTT Docomo (Xperia X Performance SO-04H), au (Xperia X Performance SOV33), and SoftBank Mobile (Xperia X Performance).
