Instantly Confirm Your "Finished Photograph"

The Leica SL features the "EyeRes® viewfinder," developed exclusively for this camera. With its large eyepiece, reminiscent of medium format cameras, and other advantages, this viewfinder boasts a high resolution of 4.4 million dots and extremely high processing performance, reducing display lag to a virtually imperceptible level. You can instantly confirm the "finished photograph" before pressing the shutter release button, enabling precise composition in any situation.

It also includes an eye sensor that automatically switches the viewfinder display when you bring your eye close. The rear of the camera is equipped with a 2.95-inch touchscreen LCD monitor with a 170-degree viewing angle, allowing for meticulous image review and comfortable menu operation via touch.

Professional Specifications in Every Aspect

The high-performance image processor, "LEICA MAESTRO II," is a symbol of the Leica SL's innovation. It responds rapidly to all operations, ensuring that even fast-moving subjects can be captured with certainty. With 2GB of buffer memory, it achieves continuous shooting at up to 11 frames per second with a maximum resolution of 24 megapixels for still images, and can record 4K video at a frame rate of 30fps. Still images can be recorded simultaneously in DNG and JPEG formats to an SD memory card compatible with the high-speed UHS-II standard.

The imaging sensor is a 35mm full-frame, 24-megapixel CMOS sensor. Under various lighting conditions, it delivers wide dynamic range, high contrast, low noise, and sharp, detailed rendering. Particularly when shooting with continuous light, its performance is fully realized in combination with Leica SL lenses, capturing the atmosphere of the moment with exceptional image quality.

Furthermore, the combination of the high-performance imaging sensor and the "LEICA MAESTRO II" image processor enables the capture of professional-grade 4K video, meeting the stringent demands of filmmakers as a serious movie camera.

Reliability to Withstand Demanding Professional Shooting Environments

The Leica SL's body is milled from a solid aluminum block, enhancing its ability to protect the delicate internal components while achieving a lightweight design. The camera's controls and lens mount are sealed to prevent dust and moisture from entering the sensitive interior. Additionally, it features an ultrasonic sensor cleaning function to remove dust and debris from the imaging sensor.

The dedicated Leica SL lens lineup is designed and manufactured based on Leica's tradition and expertise. It includes the "Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL f/2.8-4.5/24-90mm ASPH." wide-aperture standard zoom lens, covering a broad focal range; the "Leica APO-Vario-Elmarit-SL f/2.8-4/90-280mm" wide-aperture zoom lens for telephoto focal lengths; and the "Leica Summilux-SL f/1.4/50mm ASPH.," setting a new standard for 50mm lenses. The lineup is planned to expand further in the future.
