Inheriting the Design of the World's Smallest Film-Era SLR
The "OM-D E-M5 Mark II" mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera strongly inherits the design of the "OM series," which was renowned as the world's smallest SLR during the film era.OM-D E-M5 Mark IIThe body of this limited edition kit, one of only 7,000 worldwide, features the same color as the "OM-3Ti," which was the first in the "OM series" to adopt a titanium body and boasted exceptional robustness. This combination of design and color is said to embody the passion of the designers who aimed to create a symbolic expression heralding a new era for the "OM-D series."
Released this year, the "OM-D E-M5 Mark II" is the latest model in Olympus's "OM-D series" of mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras. Its compact and lightweight body features a high-resolution electronic viewfinder and a vari-angle LCD monitor with touch operation, along with further improved image stabilization performance. It offers flexible shooting styles. Furthermore, it is a rugged model with top-class dustproof and splashproof performance for shooting in the rain and cold resistance down to minus 10 degrees Celsius. It also boasts a design that evokes the "OM series" of the past, expressing elegance and character, earning it high praise as a mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera.
Faithfully Reproducing the Titanium Color of the "OM-3Ti"
The "OM-D E-M5 Mark II Limited Edition Kit" adopts the exact titanium color of the "OM-3Ti," an SLR released in 1994 to commemorate Olympus's 75th anniversary. The "OM-3Ti" used titanium material in parts of its body, boasting lightness and robustness, sharing a similar concept with the latest "OM-D E-M5 Mark II" mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera. This iconic color was achieved through repeated color adjustments to precisely replicate the hue of the "OM-3Ti."
The attention to detail in this limited edition extends beyond the camera body to its included accessories. In addition to the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-150mm F4.0-5.6 II zoom lens, the kit includes a special strap and card case made from high-quality, finely stitched genuine leather, as well as an owner's card featuring a serial number certifying its limited production of 7,000 sets and a message from Yoshihisa Maitani, the developer of the "OM series." It is a model packed with features designed to stimulate the desire for ownership.
