Discover Jewelry You Won't Find Anywhere Else
The Crafts Jewelry Exhibition focuses on adornments that combine handcrafted artistry with unique style, created by human hands. It aims to broaden opportunities to learn about the artisans' work and to meet them. This time, an exhibition and sale will feature creations from 60 handmade jewelry artists.
The venue will offer drinks, food, and sweets produced by "food + things," an organization that creates new communication spaces blending food and culture. Additionally, "ABC Coffee," which aims to connect people through a cup of coffee and deepen community bonds, will be present. Visitors can also enjoy workshops and interact with the artists in a setting akin to visiting their studios.
Introducing Some of Our Unique Artists
Lamie
While working for an apparel company, Lamie attended a workshop to learn jewelry making and debuted in 2013. Their creations are expressed as jewelry that can be worn with an artistic sensibility, featuring three-dimensional, bold designs reminiscent of objets or abstract sculptures. Each piece is crafted by hand, allowing for enjoyment of the unique "flavor" that comes from slight irregularities, asymmetry, and individual attention.
LCF
In 2010, LCF opened "LCF shop+atelier," a space with an attached workshop in Meguro, near Tokyo Metropolitan University. They create one-of-a-kind jewelry using unusual natural stones and minerals, aiming for pieces that become "irreplaceable treasures" for the wearer.
Miho Fujita
Miho Fujita creates accessories using fine lace thread (primarily cotton) crocheted and dyed with natural and plant-based colors. Motifs are inspired by natural forms such as leaves, nuts, and mushrooms. For plant dyeing, she gathers local plants to create colors reflecting the season. Her work is designed to be enjoyed for its evolving forms and colors, much like natural objects.
UNCLARUS'
After graduating from jewelry school in 2012, UNCLARUS' began selling their work in the fall. Aiming for unisex designs, they currently create pieces inspired by chemical structural formulas. They select formulas that are intriguing in shape or name, including those from pharmaceuticals, fragrances, dyes, and even those with a hazardous image. Using metals such as silver, gold, and platinum, they also accept custom orders for structural formula jewelry.
