A Subtle Relationship Between Objects and People
Hiroshima is a curious city. On one side of a major street lies its bustling nightlife, while facing it are quiet residential areas. Adjacent to shopping malls teeming with young people, one finds the Peace Memorial Park, filled with prayers for world peace. In the Meiji era, it welcomed Emperor Meiji to Hiroshima Castle, briefly making it the center of Japan. It also bears the history of being the only city in the world to suffer an atomic bombing. The people of Hiroshima are sensitive to trends and possess refined sensibilities. The city center is always bustling with people, and with the rich Seto Inland Sea nearby, its food culture is exceptionally abundant.

Down a backstreet, not far from the World Peace Memorial Cathedral, designed by architect Togo Murano to commemorate those lost in the atomic bombing, stand small shops nestled quietly together. In this cluster, a large display window particularly catches the eye.
Simple jewelry elegantly displayed on antique candle stands, old printed materials with a captivating, textured feel. And then, leather bags with a craft sensibility that conveys the delicate thoughtfulness of their designer, and clothing with unadorned, beautiful forms, like peeking into a close friend's closet.
At foo, items imbued with a sense of beauty, each with its own story, are arranged as if they were the owner's cherished personal collection, selected with a discerning eye and a keen sense of aesthetics. The shop offers a heartfelt welcome, conveying a desire to carefully pass these treasures on to others.
Curiously, this shop possesses an atmosphere that encourages strangers—whether the owner or a chance visitor—to strike up a casual conversation. It's about the subtle relationship between objects and people, where ordinary things like the day's events or yesterday's meal feel newly precious. Yes, an intimate ambiance always flows through this small shop.
This is why visitors, before leaving, make it a point to tell the owner they intend to return. It's a shop that reminds us of important things we mustn't forget, filled with a warm atmosphere that makes one genuinely want to visit again.
