Designing Gratitude: Every Day is a Thanksgiving
ARIGATO GIVING is a web select shop that proposes products for a rich and comfortable life through gifts. With keywords such as ethical, social, organic, fair trade, and traditional, the shop curates items that are kind to society, including products that support international cooperation, goods made in workshops for the welfare of people with disabilities, items cultivated with organic farming, and products that embody traditional crafts worth preserving for future generations.
For example, in the ethical category, products are chosen that are manufactured ethically and consider the environment and society, such as those that actively use recycled materials or are made without generating harmful substances during production or use. Notable items include the "La Mediterranea Aster Plate Medium," an eco-friendly dish from Spain made from 100% recycled glass, and the "Natural Soy Wax Candle Wildflower," a 100% environmentally conscious soy wax candle from the Republic of Latvia.
Hiroshi Igarashi of Casokdo, the company behind ARIGATO GIVING, explains: "While working in interior design, organic cosmetics, and public relations for social initiatives, I had many wonderful encounters. Meeting people who are striving to make the world a better place...—...strengthened my desire to expand those connections further. So, I decided to create a system not just for PR, but to sell the products themselves."
Your Purchases Contribute to Solving Social Issues
Furthermore, ARIGATO GIVING operates "ARIGATO AID," a system that automatically contributes to social causes through shopping. A portion of the site's sales is donated to NGOs engaged in international cooperation or NPOs working to solve specific issues. For its inaugural initiative, ARIGATO GIVING is partnering with "Shapla Neer: Citizen's Committee in Overseas Support," an organization that has been involved in international cooperation in Japan for over 40 years.
