Giving Broken Toys New Life Through Transplants

The "Second Life Toys - Toy Transplant Surgery" project was initiated to deepen understanding of transplant medicine through the repair of broken toys.

This project involves repairing broken toys through transplant surgery, breathing new life into them, with the goal of providing parents and children an opportunity to consider transplantation. Donations of toys to serve as donors, as well as requests for the repair of broken toys, are being accepted on a special website.

Nineteen years have passed since the Organ Transplant Law was enacted in Japan in 1997, yet only 2% of the 14,000 registered transplant candidates have been able to receive surgery. This campaign was conceived with the hope that more people will understand organ transplantation, leading to an increase in lives saved.
