A Lifestyle Magazine Launches from BALS
Launched in January of this year by BALS, a company that operates multiple sophisticated interior shop brands, is MAISHA, a magazine whose name means 'life' in Swahili. It's already making a distinct impression among the many interior design magazines.

The editor-in-chief is Miyoko Yodogawa, an experienced editor who has worked on publications such as 'anan' and 'GINZA.' The title logo was designed by Winkreative, led by Tyler Brûlé, ensuring the magazine was a topic of conversation in the industry even before its launch.
Just because it's a magazine from BALS doesn't mean it's limited to their own products; it broadly covers interiors both domestically and internationally. While centered on interiors, the current inaugural issue, for example, also broadly addresses lifestyle, featuring introductions to new shops that encompass fashion and food, as well as a special feature on Valentine's Day chocolates.
The inaugural issue also features a section titled 'We Want to See Creators' Offices.' Photographers and film directors like Mika Ninagawa, artist Asami Kiyokawa, and art director Yasushi Fujimoto appear, discussing their lifestyles as reflected through their workspaces.
MAISHA is published bimonthly in odd-numbered months and is available at BALS's directly managed stores (Francfranc, Francfranc THE POST), as well as at major bookstores nationwide, online retailers, convenience stores, and kiosks. Furthermore, English and Chinese editions are planned for release.
