A GT Car for Daily Use, and a Sports Car

Lotus, aiming to transform into an all-electric brand by 2028, has introduced the Emeya as its first electric GT (grand tourer) and a sports car suitable for daily use.
The Emeya is a four-door GT car with dimensions of 5,139mm in length, 2,005mm in width, and 1,464mm in height (with 21-inch wheels). It is available in three grades: the entry-level 'Emeya,' the well-equipped 'Emeya S,' and the flagship 'Emeya R.'
Equipped with dual motors, the Emeya R produces a maximum output of 675kW (918ps) and a peak torque of 985Nm, achieving 0-100km/h in 2.78 seconds. Even the entry-level Emeya boasts a maximum output of 450kW (612ps) and 710Nm of torque, with a 0-100km/h acceleration of 4.15 seconds.
The top speed for the Emeya R is 256 km/h, while the Emeya reaches 250 km/h.
Lotus's renowned aerodynamics remain a strong point even in its BEV models. The drag coefficient (Cd) is 0.21, and it achieves over 150kg of downforce.
Driving modes can be selected from five options: Range, Tour, Sport, Track, and Individual. It features cooling characteristics that enable demanding driving, such as on circuits, and is equipped with a high-performance 102kWh twin-layer lithium-ion battery that can accommodate 20% more cells than standard modules.
Charging is also rapid; using a 400kW DC fast charger, it can charge from 10% to 80% in just 14 minutes. The maximum driving range according to WLTP mode is stated to be 500-610 km for the Emeya and Emeya S, and 435-485 km for the Emeya R.
Furthermore, the electronic control air suspension system, equipped with advanced onboard sensors, automatically adjusts the vehicle's setup in response to changing road conditions, contributing to a smooth ride.
Fitting for a GT car, the trunk offers a maximum capacity of 509 liters. A front trunk (frunk) of 34 liters is also available for storing charging equipment and other items.
The exterior design follows the aesthetic of Lotus's iconic mid-engine designs while conveying a sense of advanced performance. The interior similarly embodies Lotus's philosophy of 'pursuit of lightness through form and material.'
The cabin features a 15.1-inch infotainment system, and the driver is equipped with a 55-inch head-up display, allowing confirmation of essential vehicle data without diverting attention from the road.
Pricing for the Emeya starts at 16,346,000 yen for the entry-level Emeya, 17,930,000 yen for the Emeya S, and 22,682,000 yen for the flagship Emeya R. Deliveries in Japan are scheduled to commence by the end of 2024.
