Japan Specification of the All-New Legacy Outback Unveiled
Subaru has unveiled the Japan specification of the fully redesigned crossover SUV, the Legacy Outback. Pre-orders have begun ahead of its launch in October 2021.
New Generation EyeSightX Standard
The Legacy Outback was born in the North American market in 1995. This flagship crossover SUV from Subaru has now undergone a full model change in Japan.
Subaru states that the newly released model, under the concept of a "crossover that stimulates intellectual curiosity and encourages new discoveries," combines the values cultivated by previous models with the latest technology.
The powertrain features a 1.8-liter horizontally opposed 4-cylinder direct-injection turbo engine, producing a maximum output of 177ps and a maximum torque of 300Nm. Furthermore, body rigidity has been optimized through the Subaru Global Platform and a full inner frame structure, enhancing dynamic quality and collision safety.
The "New Generation EyeSight" is standard for advanced safety features, and "EyeSightX (Cross)" which utilizes 3D high-precision map data, is standard on all vehicles as an advanced driver-assistance system.
The exterior combines a speed-sensing silhouette with body panels emphasizing thickness and cladding expressing robustness, creating an active and tough impression.
The interior also expresses the premium quality of a flagship crossover SUV through the adoption of a Harman Kardon sound system and Nappa leather seats. Furthermore, a digital cockpit composed of a large center information display and a full-LCD instrument cluster has been incorporated.
Two grades are available: "Limited EX" and "X-BREAK EX."
