A Clean Space Featuring Ample 100% Recycled Aluminum Alloy

Last autumn, Ferrari announced its intention to release a BEV sports car in 2026. The car has now been named 'Luce,' an Italian word meaning 'light' or 'to illuminate,' and its interior has also been revealed.
As its name suggests, 'Luce' represents the significance of this model within Ferrari's lineup and the brand's future vision.
The design also departs from previous approaches, having been developed through a five-year collaboration between Ferrari and LoveFrom, the creative collective from San Francisco founded by designers Jony Ive and Marc Newson.
The cabin is configured as a single, clean space. A particularly striking feature is the extensive use of aluminum.
The material used is a 100% recycled aluminum alloy, precision-milled from solid billets and finished with advanced anodization. This process is said to impart durability, hardness, and a refined tactile quality, while also serving as a key accent within the cabin.
Leveraging the expertise of LoveFrom's diverse team of architects, artists, graphic designers, engineers, and musicians, the 'Luce' interface places significant emphasis on tactility, clarity, and intuitive communication. Simultaneously, physical switches have been extensively employed to foster a strong connection between the driver and the vehicle.
The steering wheel pays homage to Ferrari's heritage while incorporating modern technological innovations. Its simple three-spoke design reinterprets the iconic wooden three-spoke steering wheels from Nardi in the 1950s and '60s. Aluminum is intentionally exposed, contributing to a weight reduction of 400g compared to standard Ferrari steering wheels.
The switches on the steering wheel are organized into two analog control modules, balancing functionality with ease of use. This layout is said to be inspired by the configuration of F1 cars.
The 'Luce' is equipped with three displays: the driver's pinnacle, a control panel, and a rear control panel. The team reportedly dedicated considerable time to developing an intuitive and user-friendly experience. A custom typeface, based on historical Ferrari fonts and Italian drafting styles, narrates the identity of the Luce.
The pinnacle, particularly concerning driver performance, features two overlapping OLED displays. This layered design is said to enhance visibility by creating a sense of depth.
The control panel is movable, allowing its screen to be oriented towards either the driver or the passenger. The handrest for operation is designed not only for ease of use but also as an accent that conveys the unique character of the 'Luce.'
The multi-graph in the upper right corner can switch between four modes—clock, chronograph, compass, and launch control—via an advanced electronic control system.
The center console utilizes glass, expressing both functionality and elegance, contributing to the 'Luce's' originality and innovative feel.
The full appearance of the 'Luce' is scheduled to be unveiled in Italy in May 2026.
