Arriving as Audi's Entry-Level BEV
Audi revealed at its annual press conference that it will introduce the "A2 e-tron," a compact, entry-level BEV.
The compact electric vehicle market continues to grow, particularly in major European cities. Audi intends to revive the "A2," an innovative compact model with an all-aluminum body that pioneered efficiency and urban mobility over 25 years ago, as a BEV.
Audi is positioning the "A2 e-tron" to target a broad international customer base that values everyday practicality in urban environments, sustainability, high efficiency, and digital connectivity. Furthermore, it is expected to rejuvenate Audi's electrification portfolio.
Audi also plans to unveil the full-size, top-tier "Audi Q9" in 2026, complementing the introduction of the "Audi A2 e-tron" and enhancing its portfolio.
The "A2 e-tron" will be produced in Ingolstadt, Audi's headquarters in Germany. Audi CEO Gernot Döllner commented, "The Audi A2 e-tron is an extremely important model for our brand and for our home base in Germany. By starting production of this new family of electric vehicles in Ingolstadt, we are securing jobs and offering 'made in Germany' electric cars."
The released teaser reveals a silhouette reminiscent of the original A2 for the "A2 e-tron." We eagerly await its world premiere this autumn to discover its appearance, details, and specifications.
