A "GR SPORT" Trim Also Available
The RAV4 was fully redesigned as its sixth generation in December 2025. Initially, only a hybrid model was available, but a new PHEV model is now being released.

The powertrain combines a 2.5-liter engine with electric motors, producing a system maximum output of 242 kW (329 PS).
The battery capacity has been increased, and by adopting SiC (silicon carbide) semiconductors, which reduce power loss, in the PCU (power control unit), the EV cruising range on a full charge is approximately 150 km, which should cover most daily commutes.

In addition to in-cabin power supply, it is equipped with a function that allows external power supply of up to a total of 1,500W by connecting the included vehicle power connector to the standard charging inlet, making it usable for powering home appliances outdoors or in emergency situations such as during disasters.
Using the "HV Charging Mode," it can supply power for approximately 6.5 days when discharging at 400W from a full charge and full tank of gasoline. If the "Charging Time Priority Mode," which extends the charging duration, is used, it can supply power for about 7 days.

The PHEV model of the RAV4 is available in two grades. In addition to the "Z" grade, which features a design that tightens the front and underbody with PHEV-exclusive black accents, a "GR SPORT" grade is also offered, evoking the world of the "GR" sports car series.
The "GR SPORT" utilizes the drive battery as a reinforcing member to improve body rigidity and lower the center of gravity. Furthermore, "GR performance dampers" and "GR braces" have been incorporated to enhance handling.

The design also pursues functional beauty, with a front lip spoiler and a wing-type rear spoiler. These not only suppress lift but also optimize front-rear aerodynamic balance, achieved through extensive computer analysis and wind tunnel testing. They are said to generate downforce not only at high speeds but also at low to medium speeds, contributing to driving stability.
The price for the PHEV model of the "RAV4" is 6 million yen for the "Z" and 6.3 million yen for the "GR SPORT."
