Aston Martin DBX S

Aston Martin Vantage S

Aston Martin has unveiled the high-performance DBX S and the Vantage S, which the company touts as its ultimate sports car, for the first time in Japan at "The House of Aston Martin Aoyama" in Tokyo's Aoyama district. Both models bear the "S" designation, signifying their flagship status.

Enhanced Performance and Distinctive Design

The "S" holds a special significance for Aston Martin. This designation, which has been passed down for over 70 years as a symbol of the company's high-performance models, originated with the "DB3 S" introduced in 1953. Now, two models bearing this "S" have arrived in Japan.

The importance of the "S" models for Aston Martin was underscored by the presence of Mr. Karl Bayliss, Regional President for Asia Pacific & Greater China, and Mr. Neil Hughes, Head of Product Management from the company's Gaydon headquarters, who were present to deliver presentations.

At the heart of the "DBX S" lies an upgraded version of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. It boasts a maximum output of 727 ps and a peak torque of 900 Nm, achieving 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of approximately 311 km/h.

In addition to the increased power, the vehicle has undergone weight reduction, and a carbon fiber roof is now available as an option. This not only shaves off 18 kg but also contributes to a lower center of gravity.

The design also clearly communicates the DBX's special status, featuring a striking pure black grille, newly designed splitter and diffuser, and distinctive wrap-around daytime running lights that enhance its unique character.

The lower body is accented with one of three colors – red, silver, or green – further enhancing the sporty exterior.

Meanwhile, the "Vantage S" is described as the most performance-focused model within Aston Martin's sports car lineup. This iteration further elevates its output and dynamic capabilities.

Like the "DBX S," it is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, producing a maximum output of 680 ps and 800 Nm of torque.

As an "S" model, subtle modifications have been made to the suspension, powertrain mounts, and control software. Tuning for each drive mode enhances the sense of connection with the vehicle.

Furthermore, by directly mounting the rear subframe to the body instead of using rubber bushes, directness and steering response have been improved.

The front exterior is distinguished by a new central bonnet blade, which not only serves as a visual identifier for the "Vantage S" but also aids in optimizing heat dissipation from the V8 engine.

At the rear, a decklid spoiler that spans the width of the car emphasizes its special "S" model status.

This feature does more than just add visual flair; it increases rear downforce by 44 kg at top speed, contributing to a total of 111 kg of downforce at maximum velocity.

Reservations are now being accepted for the "DBX S" and "Vantage S," the ultimate expressions of their respective model lines.
