The EX60 was announced to be unveiled to the world on January 21st.

 

Anders Bell, Chief Technology Officer at Volvo Cars, commented, "The EX60 has been designed to be a game-changer. With our new EV architecture, we have directly addressed the main concerns customers have when considering a switch to an EV. As a result, we have achieved class-leading range and fast charging performance, putting an end to range anxiety."

 

This impressive range is supported by the SPA3 EV architecture, which forms the foundation of the EX60. By maximizing efficiency in key internal vehicle systems, it achieves a driving range comparable to gasoline-powered cars.

 

 

The EX60 also marks the first Volvo vehicle to feature mega casting. This manufacturing process replaces hundreds of small components with a single, high-precision forged part, resulting in a lighter vehicle.

 

Additionally, cell-to-body technology integrates the battery into the vehicle's structure for improved efficiency and reduced weight. Furthermore, energy efficiency is optimized through a proprietary electric motor, showcasing numerous innovations dedicated to extending the driving range.

 

Beyond its range, the EX60 offers exceptionally fast charging. Using a 400kW rapid charger, it can add up to 340 km of range in just 10 minutes. All EX60 owners will also receive a 10-year battery warranty.

 

 

This advanced charging capability is enabled by Volvo's new 800V electrical system and proprietary software, which work in tandem to deliver energy to the battery more efficiently.

 

The EX60 is slated for introduction in Japan sometime in 2026. For now, we look forward to confirming its various technologies, features, and design at the EX60's world premiere.
