Equipped with a "MORIZO" mode for confident Nürburgring runs

The Auto Salon was held in splendor once again this year. TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) announced the prototype of the "GR Yaris MORIZO RR," a vehicle honed by Master Driver Akio Toyoda, also known as Morizo.

The "GR Yaris MORIZO RR" is a special edition born from Morizo's participation in the Nürburgring 24 Hours endurance race in 2025, his first in six years, with TOYOTA GAZOO ROOKIE Racing (TGRR).

TGRR was formed with the aim of accelerating the creation of even better cars by bringing together individuals centered around Morizo, who, breaking down organizational boundaries and focusing on their roles rather than titles, united the spirit of TGR's "making better cars through motorsports" with the professional racing team "ROOKIE Racing" that refines GR vehicles.

Morizo, as one of the drivers of TGRR's GR Yaris car #109, completed the race beyond the planned laps, despite the harsh conditions of the Nürburgring.

The "GR Yaris MORIZO RR" has been refined to deliver a driving experience that allows the driver and car to communicate, fostering a sense of unity, reliability, and confidence—the joy of driving—cultivated through this Nürburgring 24-hour race participation.

The exterior features a dedicated wing, generating significant downforce. The suspension settings have been optimized with damping characteristics that allow the tires to maintain firm contact with the road, even on the undulating surfaces of the Nürburgring.

As a result, the vehicle maintains its sporty performance while offering a stress-free driving experience in everyday use. The electric power steering (EPS) control has also been modified.

The "MORIZO" mode replaces the "GRAVEL" mode in the all-wheel-drive control system. This setting provides an initial torque and drive distribution optimized for confident Nürburgring runs, with a 50:50 front-to-rear split.

The exterior is equipped with a carbon fiber rear wing developed during the Nürburgring 24-hour race, along with a front spoiler, side skirts, and a carbon fiber engine hood.

The body color is "Gravel Khaki," a shade personally favored by Morizo, designed to blend seamlessly into everyday scenes despite its special nature. The wheels are bronze. Additionally, Morizo's signature yellow accent is incorporated into the brake calipers and interior switches.

Inside, the car features a suede-trimmed steering wheel, along with redesigned paddle shifters and steering switches. Drawing from lessons learned with the GR Yaris Rally2, the steering switches are now individually shaped.

Furthermore, a serial number plate bearing the "MORIZO RR" logo signifies its special status.

The GR Yaris MORIZO RR for the Japanese market will be available through a lottery application via the smartphone app "GR app" starting in spring 2026, with a limited production of 100 units. A limited run of 100 units is also planned for select regions in Europe.
