A Futuristic Italian Thoroughbred Captures the Award
The award-winning "1199 Panigale" superbike was designed by Gianandrea Fabbro, Senior Designer at the Ducati Design Center. It embodies the "Ducati essence" by merging exciting Ducati Superbike characteristics with advanced technology developed from the ground up.
Engineered and manufactured in Borgo Panigale, Bologna, this motorcycle features the world's most powerful L-twin engine for a production motorcycle, integrated into an innovative monocoque chassis. It delivers a staggering 195 HP with a dry weight of just 164 kg. Its power-to-weight and torque-to-weight ratios, the highest for any production vehicle globally, set the ultimate benchmark in its category.
With the lineage of a racing machine and the capability to deliver peak performance on public roads, this new superbike, along with the "1199 Panigale S" and the flagship "1199 Panigale S Tricolore" announced concurrently at the EICMA Motorcycle Show, is scheduled for release starting early 2012 (in European regions).
