We Must Demand "Humanity"

Kenichi Yoshida once said that humans were not born with humanity, but rather realized it at some point and strove to attain it. A child without discipline greedily eats what they want, spits out or throws what they dislike, and cries or laughs without regard for time or place, driven solely by emotion. This is not human, but beastly. While this savagery is less harmful when it comes from a weak child, when a strong adult acts cruelly with a child's heart, we must demand "humanity" from them. The stronger one becomes, the more refinement should be cultivated, and it is from the realization of such savagery that the refinement of a "gentleman" was born. Savagery is the mother of refinement.
