LEXUS
In 1989, Toyota launched the Lexus brand in the American market. It was an entry into the luxury car segment for Japanese vehicles, something previously thought impossible. Toyota achieved this through its advanced technology, superior quality, and exceptional customer service, offering a new value proposition distinct from German and American luxury sedans with its flagship model, the "LS400" (known in Japan as the Celsior).
As the lineup expanded, the Lexus brand's reputation grew, establishing its position as a luxury car brand in America. In 2004, it ventured into the competitive European market. Then, in August 2005, Lexus began operations in Japan. Initially, the Japanese lineup lacked the flagship "LS," featuring the "GS" (successor to the Toyota Aristo), "SC" (successor to the Toyota Soarer), and "IS" (successor to the Toyota Altezza). However, in September 2006, the "LS" was finally introduced, followed by its hybrid version, the "LS600h/LS600hL," in May 2007.
At the end of 2010, the supercar "LFA" was released. Today, the brand boasts a rich lineup, including the SUV model "RX," the compact hatchback "CT," and the sports sedan "IS."
Furthermore, since 2012, Lexus has adopted the distinctive front fascia known as the spindle grille, first unveiled at the New York Auto Show with the "LF-Gh," as a brand identity. This began with the full model change of the "GS," and with the "LS" receiving the spindle grille after its major minor change in October of the same year, the Lexus brand has strengthened its presence and is now fully transitioning into what the brand calls its second stage.
