The first women's fragrance from Thierry Wasser, appointed as Guerlain's fifth-generation perfumer, will be released on October 2nd. "Idylle" means "pure love" in French. This fragrance, marking a new chapter for Guerlain fragrances, holds within it the beautiful love story of Zeus and Danaë from Greek mythology.
—Danaë, princess of Argos, was confined to a towering bronze fortress by her father, King Acrisius. However, Zeus, the king of the gods who loved her, transformed into a shower of gold and slipped into her chambers through the fortress's openings. That rain blessed Danaë with a child, and she experienced a wonderful dream of love—
The existence of love, unchanged through the ages. Inspired by the love story of Zeus and Danaë in Greek mythology, "IDYLLE" is a scent that evokes intoxication filled with love and hope. As the fourth-generation perfumer Jean-Paul Guerlain said, "Fragrances possess a magical power to awaken forgotten landscapes and moments from the depths of memory, bringing to mind the presence of a beloved one." This fragrance encapsulates the essence of a woman who is eternally desired and loved.
The fragrance was created by Thierry Wasser, Guerlain's fifth-generation perfumer. It is a friendly chypre floral scent. To faithfully recreate the "bouquet of flowers to be gifted to a loved one" that he envisioned, he blended the finest Bulgarian roses with fresh, colorful spring flowers. The deep chypre notes meld into a light floral mist, evoking a joyous, light, and warm romance.
The visual image features Nora Arnezeder, a rising actress who gained fame with the film "Faubourg 36" (Japanese title: "A Little Romance"). Her captivating dance amidst a shower of golden rain evokes Zeus and Danaë.
